Resources

Hi all, I need help. Is there a way to change resources in bulk? I have about 800 plus nodes that I need to remove the volume resources on... is there a way to do this that does not involve deleting all the nodes and doing a rediscovery? Thanks.

@cwjohnson3rd and I messaged a bit and come up with:

Import-Module SwisPowerShell
$creds = Get-Credential
$swis = Connect-Swis $SwisServer -Credential $creds
$SwisServer = 'orion'

$SWISQuery = "SELECT V.Caption, V.Type, V.FullName, V.URI, V.Node.Vendor
FROM Orion.Volumes V
Where V.Type Not in ('FixedDisk', 'NetworkDisk','Fixed Disk', 'Network Disk') and V.Node.Vendor like 'VENDER NAME HERE'"

$results = Get-SwisData $swis -query $SWISQuery
# $results | OGV #uncomment to view results
$uris = $results.uri
# $uris | Remove-SwisObject $swis #uncomment to delete found volumes

I have PowerShell/Orion API scripts that do disk clean up, I remove things like Ram monitored as disk, or specific lettered drives that are used programmatically.

How would you identify the things you want to remove? It could even be a list, but I prefer less manual methods. Basically I pipe the disk URI to Remove-SwisObject and it removes it. If you can ID what needs to go, and need help, @ me.

Probably not the preferred method but you could expand the nodes in Node Management and remove them by clicking the checkbox and then deleting the volumes you don't need.

That is good advice too! some times its a quick way to get obvious clean up done.
