Custom Poller Log

Hi, looking for help on finding logs for a custom poller. We ran in to an issue where SolarWinds does not capture "Remote VPN Active Sessions" count only for a specific device.

Poller is assigned to 5 different appliances, all Cisco ASA 5525 version 9.12(4)10 and this happens to just one of the four.

It is not continuous, however there is a 20 mins break each time there is a gap in the chart.

Has anyone seen a similar case? Many thanks in advance.

Update: Changed sample interval from 10 to 15 mins and the gap disappeared. Can see the data now so it has always been there somewhere in the DB. Strange this happened to only one node. Any thoughts as to what might have caused this and only on one device? Thanks.

Changing the sample interval in the graph only hides the "issue". Check in the UnDP tool. Choose the node in upper left window. Drill down to the poller "Active_Sessions" and mark it. You can then see all the values in the right window. Is data missing there also?

How busy is the ASA at the time when data is missing? Is other types of data, like CPU and memory also missing? Is packetloss also high? If the ASA has to much to do it will skip SNMP questions.

Hi @Seashore - Don't see any missing data in poll results in the UDP tool. Chart looks good since the sample interval has been changed. First thing I did when a gap appeared was to check other data and there was no missing information. Zero packet loss too. I'm going to monitor the VPN sessions chart for next couple of days and see if the issue re-occurs.

I've also added a new perfstack chart for "Active Users" to compare just in case. Will let you know how it goes.

Hi, ok. How busy are your polling engines? If to much to do they can skip some polling cycles.
