Upgraded to 2020.2.6 tonight. Orion automatically upgraded all my agents. On 3 servers, it blew away the NIC. Haven't found anything that seems similar about the servers.
Anyone with similar issues?
When you say 'it blew away the NIC', what exactly does that mean? After the Agent was upgraded those machines not longer had a network interface registered with the operating system? Were these Windows, Linux, or AIX agents that this occurred on?
It deleted the NIC from the Windows Server. I think my admin may have figured out why:
"I can see at 10:19:06PM a SolarWinds install started. Immediately after, an error is logged
"An installation for VMTools is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes?”
Interactively or no, the SolarWinds install appears to have uninstalled VMTools. There may have been a VMTools upgrade that had been suspended for some reason."
The NIC that disappeared was only available if the WMTools are loaded.
I can't imagine anything in the Agent itself that could result in VMware tools being uninstalled. Is ADM enabled on this server, or possibly NetPath?
