Seperate SQL Instances OR One SQL Instance

Is it better to have one sql instance for all the solarwinds,npm,nta databases on one sql instance or create 2 or 3 sql instances? Which is better for performance gains. The sql version I plan on installing is SQl 2019. Also, should I do enterprise or standard?

Any thoughts or suggestions with regards on the sql installation would be appreciated.

We separated out the Logs into a seperate DB for performance. I cannot speak on NTA.

NTA has a huge memory use requirement, so is in a separate SQL instance in our environment. Standard is likely fine unless you plan to implement data warehouse features.

As long as each SQL Server instance is installed as a unique named instance, there should be no conflict between them. Each SQL Server instance is installed to a separate directory.

It depends on the size of the Orion Platform. Both databases would be in the same instance for small environments, but is better to separate them in large deployments with a high amount of flows per second.

Las bases de datos de NTA y Orion se pueden poner ubicar en la misma instancia SQL para entornos de Orion pequeños, en cambio es mejor instalarlas por separado en entornos grandes donde se espera una alta recepción de flujos por segundo.
