Really high constant traffic between our Solarwinds server and the Solarwinds SQL server

Hi all

We have all our VMs sitting on a Cisco UCS which run off 2 Nexus 9k switches.  We now have solarwinds monitoring everything including netflow on the Nexus switches.  Its working great but its using so much bandwidth between the UCS and the Nexus switches.  We've been told by our UCS guy that traffic flowing via the Nexus when going from VM to VM is just how it works and there's nothing we can do..  Has anyone come across this before??

Prior to this, we had solarwinds, but the sql was contained on the same VM so we didn't see this traffic.

This is 100% expected.  NetFlow telemetry is BIG - like huge big.  The Orion server accepts the data and then writes it to the database server for processing.  This is working as expected.  If you think this is causing problems you *may* want to look at implementing some filters on sFlow from the Nexus devices or possibly binding the flow to only "important" VLANs.
