Hi All !!! Would like to know, if we deploy the orion DB on one domain and APE on another domain. Does it create any impact or any issues will occur. or is there any limitations on this mode. Please confirm,
I had an issue where we had the main server and database on the domain and an APE that wasn't connected to the domain. It seemed to install OK but the event log was constantly full of errors about connecting to the database (login failures).
SolarWinds support said that this was from using Windows authentication and the resolution was to use a SQL account for authentication from the APE -> SQL. Errors disappeared after creating a SQL account and the APE used that for authentication.
I don't see any issues here unless your pre-reqs are met but I Completely agree with @shuth and there is a similar KB post as well regarding the same, its always best to use SQL Account rather than a Windows one

Have the required ports opened and perform some tests to validate. Ensure you have enough bandwidth and no other security limitations that would limit proper communication.
I would recommend using host file entries or the DB, APE, and Primary to prevent any DNS problems between the domains.
