Hi all,I am looking for an opportunity to configure an alert with the POST REQUEST ACTION.The action should be triggered if a topolgy change in the network happened. Can anyone help me out? Thanks,Michael
Assuming you are using the new Log Viewer for Traps, then the alert would be for any matches for the STP message.
(Note: I don't have any such devices in my lab, so the screenshots below are guesses)
For me, I'd prefer to use the standard alerting engine, so I just check this in the Rule screen.
After saving it, I can find the alert in the Manage Alerts screen and add my own actions (like making a POST call)
Any ideas yet or is this feature not possible?
sending a POST as an alert action is an available feature. Here's is a KB article that you can use to get started. Was there something more specific you were looking for?
Thanks for your answer. I am looking for an opportunity to get an alert when a network topology (due to spanning tree) changes.
Is your question how to create a properly formatted POST action to an outside service or how to configure an alert for a spanning-tree change?
