Is there a way to monitor a custom OID in NPM i.e. one that is not in the MIB database?
Background:
We have written software and designed our own MIBs for the software to output system specific status information. Because these MIBs are specific to our application and not appropriate for sharing we cannot submit them to SolarWinds to be added to the MIB database.
I currently have an evaluation copy of NPM, downloaded a few days ago (I believe it's version 2020.2.5).
Problem:
How do I get NPM to monitor and these custom OIDs?
I'm new to SolarWinds and NMP, but so far my searching through articles etc suggests this isn't possible. I would be surprised if this we true as competitor software (e.g. Nagios) supports supports monitoring (e.g. snmp-get) of custom OIDs/MIBs.
