Agent Installation and Communication to Orion

Question

So we have a system that is remote, that we want to install the agent on and have communicate to our Orion server.

We opened the necessary firewall ports for it (in the DMZ) and are seeing no traffic being blocked.  We manually installed the agent on the system, and after frustrating hours waiting for it to appear in the agent list, it appeared sometime overnight.  The system now shows agent deployment failed (there were no errors on install or setup).  I cannot manage as a node, as it feels the install failed.

Am re-checking to be sure firewall doesn't block anything, and cannot change to agent initiated communications (how I want it to be) since the option won't let you click on it.

How do I resolve this dilemma?

Using NPM and multiple modules on 2020.2.5

Any suggestions appreciated.  Have reviewed forums but seen little advice that seems to apply.

We had been through this with no accomplishments.

We just finished opening a wide open hole in firewall, uninstalled agent, deleted from Orion, then reinstalled agent and it appears to work.  Going to lock down firewall again and see what happens.

useful from troubleshooting agent connectivity. 
If your server was previously polling with WMI or ICMP, you may need to edit the Node and manually change the polling method.

Otherwise, try the troubleshooting steps in the above article.
