huge performance impact for scanning

Hi there,
did anybody come across a huge performance impact for scanning after upgrading to the current version?
We did a version upgrade in December from 9.2 to 2019.4.1 and after that (we just came across this morning) we had a significant performance drop while scanning.
It dropped from around 1000/s to 20/s - 30/s. It's Windows Server 2016 with the collector installed on this machine.
we have another machine which is a cluster. This one dropped from ~2300/s to 1300/s. A 50% drop.
