We're upgrading from 2018.4 to 2020.2.4 and we've spent the past 4 months preparing our environment to receive .NET 4.8.
Today we performed the "test" upgrade in a sandboxed solarwinds environment with an Orion server, a database server, and a few nodes (some polling via agent and some polling via WMI). After upgrading the orion server to 2020.2.4 we saw that the nodes that had the agent installed received a new agent, but those nodes still don't have .NET 4.8 installed.
Everything seems to be working okay: the nodes with the updated agents seem to be communicating just fine with the main polling engine and we don't see any errors.
Should we be concerned, though, that .NET 4.8 didn't get installed? We were expecting that, now we're not sure what to trust... our real life experience in our test environment or the documentation? Or maybe something else is going on?
Thanks~!
