Latency among nodes

Hi Team,

I checked with support and they informed that we can not set alert for latency among two nodes in NPM

(Case # - 00751534 to create latency alert among two node in Solarwinds)

Have someone come across any other tool, which can be used to monitor and alert for latency among a group of nodes.

We have an application, where latency among node, master, slave and storage should be in milli seconds, and alerts to be generated if threshold breached.

Can someone suggest a way to accomplish this.

In NPM you have interface statistics and ICMP latency, and 'other' stuff too, but lets take a look more holistically. What Orion modules do you own? Is it just NPM? 

Next, what devices are you monitoring? Exact details help here, as different things have different abilities. What types of server, what brand of storage and how are you accessing it?   

Windows and ESXi have ways to pull latency from them, Cicso routers have IP SLA abilities that might help find connection issues between them. NetApp or Pure storage can be used a lot of different ways, but has lots of details available if you have the ability to pull it in. Other things are just a black box on the wire that you can ping. It all depends on the exact details of your issue. 

Personally the best storage latency stats come from VMan and SRM in Orion in my experience.
