Orion Maps and Staff Turnover

In Orion Maps, anyone can create maps for themselves. What happens when a user leaves but has created maps for their group? Do the maps disappear? Are they inaccessible to anyone else, or perhaps still accessible to Orion admins? Can an Orion admin reassign ownership of a map to a new staff member?

I have also read that, unless the map creator had Node Management rights, that the map will not be an Orion Map Entity, so will have no status and will not be nestable. Can an Orion admin, or perhaps a non-admin user with Node Management rights, get ownership and make that map an Orion Map Entity?

I hope @jblankjblank may have some insight, but would like to hear others' experiences.

Hello @mjperkins - As the admin, you have the ability to access any map. You wouldn't be able to edit the original map if you are not the owner, but you could do a "Save As" function which would create a copy. Give it a unique name and then delete the old one if you wish.

That is correct that if a map is saved by a user that does not have node management rights that map will not be an entity with status. There is not a button/ feature to make that change within the UI, so you or another user with Node Management rights would have to perform something similar to the steps above in order to enable that functionality.
