API call to update X number of routers for monitoring a new sub-interface.

I have X number of Cisco routers. We have a consistent subinterface that is currently not managed in NPM. Is there an API call I can make to monitor new sub-interface 0/0/0.XYZ? Any information would be most appreciated.
