I'm hoping someone can assist me with an issue I'm having. I have two Watchguard Firewalls I'm trying to monitor in NPM. It keeps saying the nodes are critical and I couldn't figure out why until I looked at the resources and realized that one of the ethernet ports on each is showing as Down (red). These are both unchecked. To me, that's me telling the system I don't want to monitor those. They're both unplugged and not used, but Orion seems to be still treating the nodes as critical because of these. I tried modifying the interface using the "display interface as unplugged rather than down" and it does update to reflect that, but it still shows as being critical regardless. Is there a way for me to just get this to stop being considered by Orion?
Try deleting the interfaces you don't want to monitor.
In Manage Nodes Change the Show to Interfaces
I agree with stevenstadel. The first thing to do is make sure you are monitoring those node resources that are actually useful.
Beyond that, you might also consider whether you want to continue employ the "Classic" node status rather than "Enhanced" node status. Or, at least go through the list of attributes that contribute to Enhanced status and de-select those that you do not want to include in the roll-up node status.
