Solarwinds Security Threat Remediation

Hello,

We are currently on version 2020.2 and like everyone else need to make sure we are doing absolutely everything to protect our environment.

As per security advisory we need to install HF1 on 2020.2.1 , so my question is can i install this hotfix directly on my environment or do i have to upgrade to 2020.2.1 first and then apply the hotfix ?

If yes, then how do I perform upgrade to 2020.2.1 as my web console says we are up to date and don't have any upgrades available !!

Can someone give some clarity on how to move forward as support is not helping at all !!!

If you download the latest installer (or use the central upgrade tool) then you should end up with the latest version + latest hotfix installed.

I had this same confusion. We were running 2020.2.0 and downloaded the "latest" Hotfix offline installer for all products. It shows a description of:

Latest Hotfix Installer (Offline) - Use to install the latest released Hotfixes for all Orion products on the Orion Platform 2020.2.1

Version Number:
Release Date: Nov 25, 2020

however when I ran it the installer reported that no updates were necessary. Luckily I just double-checked and ran the online installer which had a version and release date of 2020.2.1 25 AUG 2020 and it worked to update everything to 2020.2.1 HF1. Very confusing to say the least.

Hey Jason, I'm not seeing any updated information on the Advisory page. Seems to me that HF1 is vulnerable and the upcoming HF2 is the fix. Can you confirm?

As i already mentioned we are not getting option to upgrade in our orion upgrade console !! I am not sure why this is happening. Do we have to do it offline only ???
