NetPath cannot access the target server

Question

Hi folks,

Couple of days ago I encountered problem with netpath, I got two scenarios, if you had one of them please share your experience with me.

I. There's main polling server named A and remote server named B. I'm able to ping from B server to A but can't ping from A to B, but I managed to telnet from A to B on certain port. Moreover agent is installed on B server and there's no issue with data transfer, but when I'm trying to make probe here displays the following error :  Test unsuccessful. NetPath cannot access the target server with the provided credentials, or an agent with the same name, host name, or IP address already exists. Firewall is turned off and ICMP is enabled.

II. There's main polling server named A and remote server named C. Both server can see each other and ping is successful, agent is also installed on C server and there's no issue with data transfer, but when I'm trying to make probe here displays the following error :  Test unsuccessful. Thanks mate for feedback, I'm pretty sure that firewall is turned off and this remote pcs are not in domain, so no issue with credentials.

I had the same issue and it was a credentials issue.  If firewall is out of the question and you are 100% certain that firewall (Local or Network) is turned off, it's the credentials. If you have a domain and that is going through AD, make sure to put the domain\username in that order.

Especially since server 3 worked.
