Purpose for routing option in list resources of a node

Good day all,

Having a brain dead moment. In NPM, under list resources for a node, there is an option for routing -> routing table. What does this exactly affect if unselected?

Here you go, provides the next hop details and the interface that it is connected to.

So this would be good to have on our routers, but not edge devices?
