SAM Application Monitors missing after new server installation

After the big security issue, our executives made us turn off the existing Orion server. Had to build a new VM from scratch. Connected it to the external SQL DB fine, but a few things are missing:

1. No Application Monitors show up in SAM.
2. Nodes do not appear under "Manage Nodes", even though "Group by Vendor" shows counts as they were before all this. Switching to the "new Manage Entities Page" gets the nodes to appear, but I'm unable to "Edit Node" -- it just times out.
3. Attempt to add a (Windows) node, AD credentials fail the Test. I've reset the AD password, ensured it's got proper permissions, etc. I've even tried creating a new Windows Credential, and it still fails.

I've opened a support ticket, but thought I'd check here as well.

Which was the version you were using earlier? Have you tried running the configuration wizard again?

We actually had the HF1 installed. The new VM has HF2. I did rerun the configuration wizard, with the only warning being the licensing (which I was able to fix via Customer Service).

The behavior you are describing sounds like the product licenses haven't been activated on that machine. I would suggest going to [Settings > All Settings > License Manager] and ensure all appropriate licenses are listed there. You may need to deactivate the licenses on the old server before they can be activated on the new one. That, or you will need to contact customer service to have your licenses reset.

Sometimes antivirus causing this issue. It happens with me where SAM license was not showing after upgrade and after 2 month of troubleshooting found issue in SEP sonal policy. After disabling sonar protection it worked for me.

Licenses have been properly activated. I went through Customer Service and had them remove the old activations, since that VM is no more. Then I was able to activate the new server. Did a full reboot afterwards just to be sure.

I found one piece of the solution. In the DB table "NodesData", there is an EngineID field. It had the value '2' for all nodes except the new Orion server, which had '3'. These correspond to the Orion server entries in the Engines table, from which I had deleted the '2' entry as per SW Knowledge Base article. I updated all the '2' entries to '3' in NodesData, and VOILA! -- all nodes are being polled and I'm getting a ton of email alerts.

Also, I was able to add a Windows WMI node successfully, so I'm hoping it's all settling down and getting functional.
