SSL & Domain Expiration Monitoring

Does anyone know if there's a way to do SSL and Domain monitoring for expiration dates, without needing to create a Node for every instance? We have many domains/SSL Certs and quite a few are for services hosted elsewhere so even adding a node can be difficult. Thanks!

I'm interested on this one too. I have to use 2 licenses, 1 to monitor the node performance and the other one for SSL

Create an external node, you could name it "Website Monitoring" then assign the template with the https/ssl expiration components (just keep adding them for each site/cert to that template) to that external node.

Is there an article or link that says how to do this? I have multiple websites hosted on 1 IP and this sounds like it would work perfect for me.

When you click on Add Node in the Node Management screen, choose External Node. It is the first option under the polling method. Then apply the website/ssl template to that node.

@tdowns Have you considered using Pingdom? If there is an external IP address you should be able to do proactive SSL monitoring with it: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/pingdom/Content/topics/certificate-monitoring-in-uptime-checks.htm

Oh i was talking about the SSL Cert Monitor part of it. My example was i have 6 websites hosted on the Same IP address but could only monitor when it did the IP address but I ended up finding a WMI Script someone posted in Thwack to let me specify the URL.
