we are looking for new SolarWinds instance and the requirement is around:
- Monitoring our infrastructure across multiple sites. This includes
- Physical DELL PowerEdge Servers R440, M620, R620 , M820, R730
- DELL PowerVault MDXX version storage
- Dell PowerVault NX3200 switches and N3000 Series networking switches
- DELL PowerEdge M1000E chassis
- VMware vSAN environment 6.7
- Windows and Linux servers running custom applications
- Asset Inventory for management/discovery of the above assets
- Reporting availability of the above asset using SolarWinds
- Integration of the monitoring with ServiceNow , Slack bot
We would be looking for a mixed of subscription license with ongoing maintenance and support to help with installation, configuration, setup and operation for the below modules:
- Server and Application monitoring
- Virtualization Manager to monitor VMware instances
- Storage resource monitor
We have not scoped yet the number of devices. Hence , we will be looking to start with X number of devices say 100 and then increase as count as per the requirement.
I am working to get the pricing for the windows and Microsoft SQL licensing. Moreover with the availability of the AWS Direct Connect we could look at leverage our AWS VPC instance to install the solution in the cloud.
Moreover, I read some online documentation for deploying SolarWinds Orion Platform products to Amazon Web Services and have come up with a few queries. Please confirm
- The Main polling Engine (MPE) and the Orion Web console will be installed on the Windows server running within the AWS VPC .
- We can then have Additional Polling Engine (APE) installed locally on each site and establish connectivity to the Main polling Engine (MPE) and the Orion Web console AWS VPC
- The Additional Polling Engine (APE) will poll the devices on each subnet to monitoring.
