Web Application Monitor

Hello,

I am currently doing some research around the web application monitor tool of SolarWinds for implementation. Requesting help with the below questions. 

• Does this tool cover web application and web service monitoring for applications hosted on Linux, Windows platforms?
• Does this tool cover both real-time and synthetic transaction monitoring?
• Web application monitoring is a separate package or does it come under Server and Application Monitrong package?
• Does this tool cover monitoring for IIS, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP, Nginx?
• For real-time monitoring and alerts like (CPU, Disk, Uptime, Response Time), Do we need to buy an additional package?

This forum mostly focuses on the Orion platform, which is a self-hosted set of modules such as SAM (server metrics like cpu/mem/disks/response as well as process and application monitors for things like iis/apache/nginx) and WPM (synthetic web transactions). Orion does not currently have a real user monitoring module.

 Alternatively, SolarWinds also has a suite of cloud based SaaS tools that can also cover all the things you mentioned.  AppOptics can cover all the host and process monitoring, as well as adding in the option to do APM traces.  Pingdom does web service monitoring with pings/synthetic transations/real user monitoring.
