How to migrate report writer reports to web based report

Hello Fellow Members,

I am planning to upgrade NPM 2019.4 to 2020.2, since Report Writer is removed in the newer version, is there any way to migrate report writer reports to web based report?

I know we can get the SQL queries from the report writer, is there any other way to achieve this?

Kindly help me on this.

Log in to the server hosting your main polling engine.
Start the Legacy Report Migration Tool. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Report Writer Migration Tool.
Choose the report(s) to migrate.
1. To only migrate specific legacy reports, use the Search box to find the reports and select corresponding boxes.
2. To migrate all legacy reports that have not been migrated yet, select the Not yet migrated box and click the box in the table header to select all displayed items.
Click Migrate.
You can check the progress in the status bar at the bottom of the tool. Successfully migrated reports are marked with a green checkmark.
If a report was not migrated, the corresponding icon stays gray. Check the log file for more details. By default, the log file is stored at
C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\Solarwinds.ReportMigrationTool.log
The migrated report is now converted to Web based report and is available only to administrators. It is in the No Reports category and its creator is the admin user.

I'd suggest to make a backup copy of the folder xx:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports\ before starting upgrade (just for any case). After upgrade all of your old reports should be still in that folder and you may use them from Orion Web console. If you would make fresh installation or transferring Orion to new server then recover reports from backup to above folder.

And more - you can explore/edit old reports by run Report Writer application manually - it is still available in xx:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\OrionReportWriter.exe.

Once these steps are taken to migrate the deprecated Report Writer reports to Web-based, can the old report writer (deprecated) be deleted from within the "All Reports" tab?
