NPM Install Fails at 85.4% through Config Wiz

Question

Hi.

I'm having trouble installing NPM 2020.2.1 on a Windows 2016 platform. The Configuration Wizard progress reaches 85.4% and fails with a message: Verifying that the SWIS service is available FAILED.

I've tried a couple of suggested fixes, including the increase of the SWIS timeount value from 90s to 3 mins and also enabling all 'Allow' permissions on the Machine Keys. The issue remains.

The server doesn't have any particular hardening applied and is not AV scanned.

Any ideas?

Just for the case that you haven’t resolved the issue yourself:
- Stop all Solarwinds services
- Stop RabbitMQ
- set Registry according to this article: https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/TFTP?language=en_US
- Check for remaining Solarwinds and Java processes : Get-Process | where-object {$_.ProcessName -match “Solarwinds*} | Stop-Process

Get-Process | where-object {$_.ProcessName -match “Java*} | Stop-Process
- run Config Wizard again
- Start Solarwinds Admin Service if not started automatically

Do one thing reboot your SolarWinds server wmm0949solap01

Then try running configuration wizard.
