Date Format with Universal Device Poller

I am trying to add a poller to pull the battery last changed date from an Orion ups system using the Universal Device poller.  The ups is providing a date , but I get a "data is not available" at the node level.  Is the UDP the best way to get that data ? 

I just want the date, not a radial guage, is there a way to just provide the date on the node summary page ?

Try adding a resource similar to that. It will show all the custom poller values for that node.
