Hello ,

Can APE poll two different network if Additional Polling Engine has two ip adresses?

DB ->Network A

main polller > network A

APE -> Network A and Network B

Can we monitor Network B devices on Solarwinds NPM?

If you’re talking about dual homing the polling engine (ape) with multiple nics that’s certainly possible if in the case Network A can’t route to Network B. Assuming no better solution is available, e.g. a dmz of sorts.

Just keep in mind that SolarWinds applications will abide by the Windows routing table (get familiar with the route command) and the nic binding order.

Whatever you do make sure you don’t set two default gateways... Assuming (interface1 / Network A) can reach the database server, and primary engine and its the default route... you’d need to know exactly which networks you need to specify routes for on interface2 / Network B.

As long as network A can talk to Network B then it should work fine. I poll devices on many different networks with all of my APE's

Actually network B , backup network and no access from other networks.

we plug cable From network B our APE , we monitor Network B devices
