How to remove single stack switch from the Switch Stack Poller and List of Switch Stacks

Hi, we recently upgraded to 2020.2 HF1.  Post upgrade I cleared all the devices being monitored by the Switch Stack Poller and cleared the related DB tables.  Then I re-enabled the Switch Stack Poller and applied to all the compatible devices.  This results in a number of single stack switches being added, which I expected.  Then I went back to the Switch Stack Poller and unassigned the single switch devices.  My expectation was that this would cleanup the List of Switch Stack and DB entries for those devices. It has not.  I am sure that I was able to do this in previous versions like 2018 and earlier.  I opened a support ticket on this and the answer so far is to delete and re-add the node (and quickly make sure the node is unassigned from the Switch Stack Poller).

Has anyone else seen this?  Any work arounds?

Not really an answer, is it? remove a node and all the associated historical data in order to fix a cosmetic issue
I agree, previous versions behaved as you describe. I can also confirm that I am seeing the same behaviour as you

Also looking for a more realistic answer, apart from 'delete 300+ nodes and re-add them'

It is my understanding that a node is marked "compatible" and enabled for the Switch Stack poller if the config contains a line that says:

"switch 2 provision....."
"switch 3 provision....."
"switch 4 provision....."
etc.

as this suggests there is at least a second switch.

Check the configs of the single-switch stacks and remove these lines if they exist.
This should stop the Switch Stack poller from picking it up.
NOTE: there should be a line for "switch 1 provision....". It is the rest that should not exist.

I'd like to know as well as we have the switch stack poller reporting the stack and I'd like to have it report the stack as well as stack members as we have a large deployment of various switch stacks.
