Network Discovery What do you do?

Hello THWACK -

I have network discovery setup for just Servers that get spun up in the various domains that we have. The jobs are configured to check each of the active directory domains and add nodes to Solarwinds if they are found in any of the OUs and I get emailed when any of the jobs complete.

Just Curious to see how others have their Network Discovery setup in any different way or anything fun or creative.

Hi @martian_monster

I have 2 discovery jobs “servers production” & “network”

The server job looks for WMI device’s on the server subnet

To that discovery job that run every day.+run alert with the same name that updates

the right CP for servers.

Same with the “Network “job just look for SNMP device’s on management VLAN

and have alert with the same name that add the CP to the networks device..
