We currently have V3 traps coming into solarwinds. We are using Juniper SRX firewalls and need to switch from traps to informs. I've looked at some links myself and the one provided by support. Our engine ID is "1" which is not accepted by the SRX. It wants an RFC specified 5-64 character engine ID.
I opened a case with SW asking how to change the engine ID and they said it's auto assigned and changing it to something else would likely break other parts of SW as other things rely on this auto-assigned value.
Has anyone been successful is getting informs to work in Solarwinds with an SRX or any other network device?
