BGP Status Polling Settings

How often does BGP status get polled in Solarwinds? Is it tied to a certain polling setting? Is it tied to Status Polling (120 seconds) or Statistics (10 minutes)? We are trying to figure out if we need to set up a trap to catch a status change so we aren't waiting for a server to poll to get the BGP status.

This article explains how to change the interval, and indirectly tells you where to check to see what it currently is, looks like its 180 minutes. Would definitely recommend a trap alert.
