SNMPV3 test Failed on orion console

Hello,

I am trying to monitor silverfort appliance via snmp v3 credentials but its failing on web console. However when i am running snmpwalk on server its responding and working fine.

What could be reason of failing test on orion web console?

Anyone faced such issue? what is the resolution please suggest.

Possibly verify your SNMPV3 settings between the two platforms. Perhaps one of them or the associated passwords are incorrect on the NPM website. I use both of those tools frequently and have not ran into any issues as you describe.

I'd suggest checking for a couple of things.

1. Are you running SNMPWalk from the polling engine you are using to poll the device? I've seen networks where SNMP traffic was blocked from some boxes but not others.

2. There are a few very basic OIDs that SolarWinds looks for in the Orion Web Console Check:

1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1 sysdescr
1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2 sysobjectid
1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3 sysuptime

If it doesn't see them, the check will fail. This is really rare, but I have run across it. It is worth a moment to check the SNMPWalk output to confirm those OIDs are there.

I tried snmpwalk from solarwinds server and it's responding. However the Orion web console showing failed with same settings.

Using same settings on console. Interesting thing is SNMPwalk tool is perfectly working from NMS server but test is failing on webconsole. Not sure why?

These OID's are missing in appliance and solarwinds support suggested may be this causing the issue on webconsole. Asked vendor to raise feature request to implement these OID's in appliance.
