I've been given the task to find a way to monitor the health status of a PRI and a SIP circuit. I'm not too familiar with voice, so I figured I'd just monitor the interface on the voice router itself. I'm sure there is a better way to gather statistics of the circuit (how many active phone calls, jitter, latency, etc), but I'm not sure what the best way to do this would be. We have NPM and NTA that we can use to gather these statistics.
We are also trying to monitor our MPLS circuits and our DIA circuits. We can do interface monitoring, but that doesn't always tell us if there is an issue. We had an instance were the circuit went down on the ISP's router, but our interface stayed up and passed traffic back and forth from the ISP's router. We didn't get alerted on this because we were only monitoring the interface.
What would the best way to go about getting these statics be?
