Orion Node Grouping

Working on deploying a new deploying or Orion and wanted to check on whether a device can belong to more than one group in NPM. For instance, if I have a site with all the devices at the site but I also want a group that holds all we'll say SD-WAN nodes at the same time. Will the node appear is both groups or only one at a time, my testing indicates it can only belong to one group at a time.

It's an interesting question.  You can put the same device into multiple maps.  And you can manage one device through several kinds of groups (Vendor, machine type, location, etc.) in NCM and NPM.

You can create nested or separate Alert Groups / Dependencies that allow the same node in several of the groups of dependencies.

What product and tool/application are you specifically using, which is not allowing you to have the node in more than one group?  

Can you provide a few screen shots to us, showing the node added to one group, and failing to be added to a different group?  What message is displayed when this happens?
