Hello Expert,
I would like to monitor the status of the cluster lets say having two Proxy nodes under one cluster, how to achieve this in SolarWinds. Thanks in advance
Thanks Staurtd, we are still using version 2018.4 and I've found this link for OID://www.circitor.fr/Mibs/Html/B/BLUECOAT-SG-PROXY-MIB.php please confirm, is it right one?
I am fairly new in SolarWinds, as far as I've understood that first I need to add a cluster as a node (I've its IP address) in SolarWinds and two nodes (under this cluster) that are already added in SolarWinds.
For proxy's cluster status, which OID do I need and for devices (SG-S500) as well.
Let's suppose, it is a 2 node cluster (Add all 3 (Cluster IP, Node IP, Node IP as devices within Solarwinds):
1. Add and Monitor the cluster IP as a device. (Is there any OOTB application to monitor this proxy cluster?).
2. Add and Monitor both the physical nodes.
3. For Cluster, services which template should I use.
4. So how can I set alert to show the status of the cluster?, Status Up/Down or Availability for the Cluster Nodes, Active and Passive, Status of Cluster group, Status of Cluster resources. etc.
I would really appreciate it if you help me in this regard, thanks.
Firstly, you will likley have to create a Universal Devcie Poller for the relevant OID.
Then once you see the data for that coming through you'd have to build it into an alert - on this aspect it very much depends on what version of Solarwinds you are running. On older versions you could use the Trap Manager to monitor that OID and trigger but on the latest versions this has been deprecated and the same functionality is not there.
If you are on one of the newest versions 2019.4 for example then I don't know how you can incorporate a UnDP into an alert or even if you can.
