Keeping UNIX devices Resource listing updated

My Unix support team had created a new file system on one of their AIX devices. They wanted to know why they were not alerted when it almost filled up. I informed them that Orion  would only know about the new file system if they had let me know so that I could discovery the devices resources again and update. It started me thinking that I could create discovery jobs to run every so often to perform this task. I wanted to reach out to the community to see if others are doing this and how often they are running these jobs

Worked with lots of people who have gone around and around on this, but yes the scheduled discovery is the best available path forward, but usually you need to also set up some kind of rules to clean it up to only track the volumes you want.  That clean up process is not really well defined natively in Orion so lots of people have tried lots of approaches to automate it.
