How to monitoring FC Port of Server system via SNMP?

Hi.

How to monitor a server's FC port(HBA) via SNMP?

I want to monitor the status (Up / Down, Traffic, Mode, Error info, etc.) of the FC ports(Storage card) installed in the server system through NPM.
I've tried a lot through forums and Google search, but I haven't found a way so far.

FC Hba cards mainly use Qlogic and Emulex.
The server's OS is Linux and Windows.
The monitoring method uses SNMP.

If you have successfully monitored the status of the server's FC(storage) Port, please share information.

I've worked on this before and generally speaking HBA's do not show up in windows SNMP. If they do show up it is usually just up/down of each port and no other detail, but it really depends on the vendor of the HBA.
Since SNMP on Windows has not been supported by Microsoft for several years it is pretty limited and won't improve. Most of the info you mention needing is available in WMI or via powershell but since it isn't part of the standard pollers that orion collects you'll probably have to set up a SAM custom wmi query component or powershell script template.

I don't know off hand if hbas show up in net snmp. If they don't naively then you can modify your snmp to use custom oids to execute shell scripts that would collect the info you want or you can use sam custom script monitors.
