Using a web based report on a Widget

I am trying to use a web based report to create a new Widget but I only see reports from Orion report writer on the list. How do I add web based report to the list to create the Widget

Although I'm not able to insert a screen shot due to my having shared 1000+ screen shots over the last 16 years, and the new Thwack host doesn't allow more than 1000, I can try describing how you can attempt to succeed with your challenge.

Open an NPM page to which you want to add a widget.
Click on the pencil icon in the far left panel at top.
At the top right, click "Add Widgets"
In the double-vertical pane that expands from the right side, select Group By (on the top of the left panel of the two panels)
Use the drop-down to select Type or Classic or Feature. I suggest you spend a little time here checking the various kinds of Widgets in the various groups. You might find something that does what you need that could be a happy surprise. It would be excellent if what you want is already available somewhere besides what you have built in Report Writer. Although, I do quite like Report Writer, and have been able to do a LOT with it, so don't count it out.
Select Type, then click on Reports
In the right side you'll see the Available Widgets. I can see that selecting Custom Chart or Custom List of Reports, or Custom Table limits one to only choose from items built in Report Writer. Here's where some exploring of other Widget Groups might be a relatively quick solution. Custom Queries, Custom Resources, Charts, even Favorites (if you've starred any items in there) may be good options to review.

Perhaps if you shared some specifics about the kind of report you want to use as a Widget would shake loose some other ideas, from me or others in Thwack?

Thank you! I was trying out web reports and wondering why it's not showing up on that list and can't be used to create widgets. I only see reports from Orion report writer on the list. Is there a way to edit resource from Web report and use it to create Widget?

I haven't seen a method of doing that (at least, not that I remember), but I HAVE been able to use Report Writer to duplicate information displayed in the new Web Reporter. It means Remoting into the Main Instance of Solarwinds and starting up Report Writer there, and then learning another new tool. Yes, it's not using your existing skills and knowledge, nor is it as convenient and immediately intuitive and obvious as the GUI in Web Reporter. But I learned to use Report Writer not long after we bought Solarwinds products in 2004, and I found it powerful and fairly easy to learn.

It's not the answer you hoped for, but if you build your desired report in Report Writer, I bet you'll be able to add it as a Widget.

I'll be watching this space to see if someone comes up with a way for you to get the job done without Report Writer.
