Which is the recommended option for server monitoring in Solarwinds, Agent based or Agent less?
Below is a link showing the features you get with an agent vs agentless

Thanks @neomatrix1217 .
I would like to if there is any different in the resource utilization of Solarwinds polling servers if we used agent or agentless(WMI) monitoring.
Agent uses less resources on the network, and in theory less resources on the host, but there have been bugs here and there where the agents go haywire and use up all the available resources on the host
I would start with WMI for windows and SNMP for everything else, it's much easier then the agent. Eventually you will reach a point where you will need or want the agent.
1) If you have a windows server that logs all authentications... WMI will drive you crazy, install the agent.
2) Remote servers in other security zones. WMI can be difficult or forbidden depending on the situation. Install the agent. This also gives you the option of doing server initiated or agent initiated connections. There is very little difference to Orion, but the difference to your security guys will be huge.
