Switch and Port Renaming

Still learning the ends and outs of Solarwinds so if this is an easy fix, please let me know. Currently we are renaming all of our switches and then every port. Is there a way to have Solarwinds see these changes? With over 1500 switches and over 50,000 ports, I cannot imagine the only way to update this info is manual. I have been told to rediscover, which did nothing. I have been told to poll now, which did nothing. Lastly, I have been told to delete the node and re add which seems just as lengthy as manually changing it because of all the data that would have to be added back.

you could use something like below to update the Captions of the devices in SolarWinds to match their sysname value that is polled. Caption is not a dynamic field because it can be modified to give a custom name.
