Is Realoading every 3 months the new norm for Solarwinds?

We have been running Solarwinds for years. Recently ((3) Months ago) we upgraded to 2019.4. We have had issues after issues. It seems that the fixes are "Lets do a clean re-load". Are others having the same issue? How about this one. Permission checker runs, finds errors, you choose fix errors, It fixes them. Exit out of Permission checker and re-run permission checker and see the same issues. Mostly everything runs the way it needs to I just can't list resources from some devices. I have yet another ticket opened and they are planning a "Fresh" install again. Between Fresh installs and re-running configuration wizard my attention is more towards the product than doing my job.

Anyone else out there in the same position? Looking forward to getting Cisco DNA-C and Prime to replace this product.

@william.evans - This is certainly not a new norm by any means. I am sorry to hear you are having difficulty but would love to assist where I can. I reviewed a number of support cases and for the most part appear to be resolved or the support team provided the information you were looking for.

I will see if I can get some extra eyes on the 00560409 case.

I will mention that I'm still running 2019.2 HF3 because I had tested and read about various problems in the newer releases that made me feel content to sit where I am until the noise settles down.

On the Cisco note, I have converted many companies off Prime and into Orion. You give up some visibility into wifi but pretty much every other aspect of the product is better in Orion. It's not like DNA-C hasn't had fun bugs like this

Yeah that was the last stable version for me. Also they started to remove features that I use. This features are the ability to re-baseline with one click in NCM Jobs. That was removed going to 2019.4. I opened a ticket on it and was told " so sad so bad" live with it. The next removal in 2020 will be the useful report writer. They are forcing the use of the web reports. Did anyone ask us?

Last night was a complete re-load of 2019.4. Was the 3rd install in the 3rd way. Nothing fallows suit.

As for Cisco DNA-C or Prime, yeah there will be some growing pains. We will be using them anyway as SD-Access and SD-WAN get deployed so it will be a road we have to go down anyway. I've used Prime before so it won't be my first Rodeo.

I would stay with the version you have for as long as you can.

Do you control group policy objects applied to your servers? It might be worth checking whether GPOs are not allowing the permission fixes or changing them back. It's possible you may need to work with GPOs (and whoever in your organization controls them) to make sure your servers will accept the necessary Windows configuration for Orion.
