F5 load balance hardware details is showing unknown

Question

Hi all,

f5 hardware details is showing unknown -

enable snmp and do list resource to enable the "hardware details"

'

and also "ifcontrol" based polling also enabled but still hardware details is not appearing.

could you please suggest what else i am missing.

Oh well in that case, since it's a VM there is no hardware status to be polled since it's virtual (there's no physical hardware to poll anyway.) That'd have to be done at the hypervisor / bmc level then. You may just want to list the resources on that F5 and uncheck hardware health, then submit so it doesn't keep showing unknown and wasting polling cycles in Orion.

Actually i bit confused, F5 is Vm based solution, hence no h/w monitoring possibility.

It might be worth trying an snmpwalk against the F5 to see what comes of it, and verify that SNMP is functioning and/or providing the right OIDs. It does look as though there is a requirement to have TMOS 11.2 and later for SNMP to work.
