setup a SMTP server, then alerts coming, no need to configure alert???

Hi everyone,

I only setup a SMTP server and choose it as default then I got alerts coming into my mail box if nodes are up or down. I have not setup alerts yet. Anyone could tell me why? Thanks.

I'm guessing it's from the "Out of the box" alerts that were enabled by default. Once you put your SMTP server in there, it then knew where to send the alerts to.
