Disable Hardware Sensor and Alert Still Comes in After Clearing

I need some help with hardware sensors. I have some Cisco Nexus switches. There are a couple of power supplies that are not installed generating alerts in the switch and also Ethernet ports that are not being used that are generating Transceiver Power Sensor alerts as well. I went into Manage Hardware Sensors and disabled the particular sensors. I then cleared the alerts and they all came back. Why is this happening? Why would the alert/trigger condition re-alarm out if I have disabled those particular sensors on device.

I am not sure how immediate the disable sensor is.  I have a resource showing these and they don't always clear right away when I disable a sensor.  My thought was it might need to go through a rediscovery to completely update a node on a sensor disable.  I believe the default for rediscovery is 30 minutes, but it can be done manually on a node.  For me, this has been the only sure what to make sure a sensor won't alert again.
