Configuration Wizard Error

Hi,

I installed NPM and tried to run the configuration wizard and ran into this error:

Database configuration failed:
    •  The process cannot access the file 'E:\Solarwinds\NPM\SWNetPerfMon.DB' because it is being used by another process.
    •  The process cannot access the file 'E:\Solarwinds\NPM\SWNetPerfMon.DB' because it is being used by another process.

Website configuration failed:
    •  Unable to locate assembly file [E:\Solarwinds\NPM\Orion\SolarWinds.Orion.Core.DiscoveryPlugin.dll]

I have checked that these files were available in E:\Solarwinds\NPM. I have already uninstalled NPM and reinstalled it but I still get thesame error. Any thoughts? I have stopped all solarwinds related services through the Solarwinds service manager when I was running the wizard.

Hi,

you can either create support ticket for your issue (and somebody from development will help you) or you can try to solve it yourself. It should be good enough to use application called Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645) which tells you many information about accessing files, registers etc.

Please feel free to create support ticket if you are not sure how to use Process Monitor. In such case please don't forget to enter case number to this forum.
