Everytime we add a node and when it gets added to a group (via dynamic query), it seems the node is not added to a Orion map. Is there a setting to get it to automatically add all nodes on a map?
I created a group and then added a few nodes to the group manually and the map reflected the group changes. When you click on the group do the added nodes show up?
when you add a Group to an Orion Map. You are adding the Group as an object. Any new object that is populated in the group will be contained and contribute to the Orion Map Group Status and you can view the objects contained within a Group by drilling into the Group from the Map.
But when you add devices (Nodes/Interfaces) to the Orion Map. You are adding individual elements. There for any new nodes that are dynamically added to a Group will not be populated individually onto a Map
What is needed (hopefully in version 2020.4) are Maps populated by formula.
@ajiwanand - There are two different versions of maps. There are the Contextual Sub-view maps which are dynamic and should automatically be kept up to date based on membership. These maps are located as a tab under the Group Details view, on the left hand side. These maps cannot be customized due to their dynamic nature, and are redrawn each time based on membership that exists.
Now you can use these maps as a starting point and click the Open in Map Editor, or just access the Orion Maps page and start a map from scratch, either way the new web based Map Editor is your other option. Here you can customize the map and place these in a widget on a summary dashboard. These maps however, do not update automatically based on any defined criteria.
