A couple of thoughts for the Map Maker...
iunderwo
This application has come a long way since its inception, so here are a couple of more ideas for it.
Currently, line status can be based on one interface. It would be nice to configure the line to split status with a different interface on each endpoint controlling its respective half. This would be more convenient than using two lines, and would save space on the map.
Another feature idea would be to set a temperature scale of sorts for line status. For example, from black through bright green or another color combination based on line utilization. This could even be done with a three points...like green to yellow for 0-50%, and yellow to orange for 50-100%, and being able to set a link fail color.
The two features combined would make for some extremely pretty (and easy) maps.

Another idea I had would be for accounts with limitations and maps.
Currently, it's setup so a user can view all nodes on the map, or have those nodes removed from the map.
I'd like to see a third option to not show status. For example, I have a map which shows the layout of my NPM network. The good nodes are green and the linsk are colored. However, if an account limitation doesn't allow a user to view the item, I would like it to reflect status as if no object were selected for the view.
For the all nodes view, the web engine should not generate hyperlinks to items users don't have access to. This would work just as well for me as the above, and should be easy to code in.

And yet another thought...
Allow specification of a background color which also asks for the size of the map. This is quite useful with background textures, and would be particularly useful with a blank specified color.

Finnally, I think the ability to use Cisco Icons (.VSS or .PTT) would be a great improvement. Not to say that the icons aren't good but I think Cisco's are better.

You can copy and paste the cisco icons directly from Visio into mapmaker.
Check the following reply in this post:

The SolarWinds Map Maker update in Version 7.1 will allow copy and paste of device
icons directly from Visio (or other graphics programs).
Select the device icon in Visio and select "Copy".
Within Map Maker, select "Paste Special" from the Edit menu.

I would also like to make a request for those features listed in the first post. Especailly line utilization where the admin could set the thresholds.
