Custom Poller Alert

I would like to create an alert base on the status of a custom poller. My trigger is Poller Name is equal to webmail01-80. Numeric status is not equal to 4. When I test this alert it triggers on another service that is using the apsvcstate instead of the poller I am requesting. I have also attempted to use the exact OID with the same results. Please clarify how to alert on custom pollers. Thanks

Try adding a third condition as follows:

Complex condition with both left and right side as type 'field' and use the 'Network Nodes - Node Details - Node ID' field for both the left and right field. This is a work around that prevents losing the linkage to the Node for alerts that don't include any Node information in the definition.

Same results. It continues to alert on another service.

I re-read your original question and noticed that it was about testing the alert. When testing the alert it is possible that a node was chosen that did not support the type of alert so the alert test system chose a node that does support that alert type. This happens in the test fire scenario but not in an actual live alert.
