Configuring Flap Detection

I've parsed through the help files, support site and forums and have yet to see how to configure flap detection.

The scenario is along the lines of: if I have a WAN connection that is in a state of cycling up and down I'd prefer there to be a down/up event only once followed with a count of the number of times that the issue has occurred, within some time constraint. This way the operations group isn't inundated with alerts for a known issue and don't have to place the circuit into unmanaged/maintenance mode.

My suspicion is that this isn't a function implicitly designed into Orion 8.5.0 and will need to be an advanced alert configuration.

Yes, you're in advanced alert territory here. I don't know that you can necessarily include a count of the number of state changes, but you can at least put a delay on the alert reset condition. So have the alert trigger immediately when the interface goes down, but only have it reset the alert when it has been up for X minutes.
