Alerts

Question

I have configured an Advanced Alert.  I use Advanced Alerts because there is a Trigger Condition "Do not trigger this action until condition exists for more than x minutes".  But in Advanced Alerts, there is no option to select which Monitored Network Objects to include in the alert like Basic Alerts have.  How do I select which Network Object to include in an Advanced Alert?  Thanks.

There are a number of options available in the Device > Device Details > ... menu. device name was an easy one to show. You can also use custom properties to group selected devices as well. The Creating Custom Properties chapter of the Admin Guide should provide the info you need.

Thanks Andrew.  In Basic Alerts it is very easy to select from a list of nodes.  In Advanced Alerts, it appears that I have to create a new condition for each node I want to include?  This can be hundreds and difficult to maintain.  Am I right or did I not understand the steps?

Complete the following addition to your current alert:

* On the Trigger Condition tab, select the Type of Property to Monitor.
* Click ... (Browse) to select Add a Complex Condition Group.
* Click ... (Browse) to select Add a Simple Condition Group.
* For each device you want to monitor, select Device > Device Details > Device Name.

The rest of your alert should stay the same.
