Hi All,

I was studying for the exam and was baffled by the answer for one of the questions.

Question:

2. You need to ensure that an Orion user account can make changes to resources and views as needed.

Which permission will allow the user account to do this with the least amount of privilege?

a. Allow Node Management Rights must be active

b. Allow Admin Rights must be disabled

c. Allow View Customization must be enabled

d. An Account Limitation must be defined

Answer Key:

Why is this wrong?

I was sure b was the best choice since the user would ONLY need both Node management rights(a) and View customization (c)

However, View customization will NOT give you abilities to change the node resources (Already tested this to make sure I wasn't going insane, I'm not )

Hopefully the exam questions are more straightforward.

Has anyone taken the NPM exam yet? Any words of encouragement?

Resources = the elements in a view

That's what I thought as well but I looked closer.

The question states:

"make changes to resources"

Widgets make up views and metrics populate widgets, so I don't think elements are involved at this level. ( elements is the amount interfaces/volumes/nodes/etc being polled, I dont think elements refer to the metrics in the view)

Change to resources can't be done in any view that I know either.

user42 widgets were previously referred to as resources (oftentimes you can still see them referenced as resources in the DB). This question needs to be updated to widgets as its outdated terminology, but it is referring specifically to being able to modify views and widgets
